Jassi de Parathe is known for their delicious parathas and Punjabi cuisine in Ahmedabad. I visited this restaurant in two locations, Vastrapur and Prahladnagar.
I have been in Ahmedabad for 10 years. I would say, 4 years ago, I used to visit regularly and was always keen to taste new dishes and parathas.
About First Experience at Vastrapur Branch
That was my first time at the Vastrapur branch. Fully crowded place. Might be due to Sunday rush. After waiting 30 to 40 minutes, they set up our table outside. We are fifteen friends, and ordered 15 parathas. They took another 45 minutes to serve it.
Taste wise parathas are excellent as feedback given by friends at that time. And, pricing was also worth it.
After my first experience, I have visited this place on so many occasions but inside this place is much congested and less comfortable. I always felt something was missing and found it not suitable for dining purposes.
Many of my friends like this place so my opinion might vary with your opinion.
Experience at PrahladNagar branch
We went inside the restaurant and as usual, their staff greeted us. There are far better setting arrangements than the Vastrapur branch. And especially, the ambience of this place is amazingly calm and peaceful.
The ambience of the restaurant was comfortable, convenient, family-style, and fascinating. And the creativity and traditional touch give the restaurant a perfect authentic restaurant appearance. The illustrious interior inside the restaurant was amazing.
Services at both Places
We waited too long but it was Weekend so no issue about that. But, Always, they are too slow.
By the way, I like the consistency they preserve to give the same taste at each of their branches. But, you can’t expect the same dish to be served with the same taste on weekends.
Their services are the worst during the weekend. No one’s gonna care about what you ordered. They can serve anything on your table. Even on working days, they are pretty slow and This is what bothers me a lot.
And, since the last couple of years food cost of Jassi de Parathe seems to be a little overpriced.
Food Experience at both Places
At the Prahlad Nagar branch, I remembered exactly what I had ordered. We ordered 4 Aloo paratha, 2 Gobe Lassan paratha, and 1 Paneer da paratha with and 4 Lassi.
I can sense the aromatic and flavorsome smell of the parathas. I can sense the aromatic and flavoursome smell of the parathas. The dough of all the parathas was perfectly cooked, I couldn’t find any raw spots. And the stuffing of vegetables, paneer is elegantly filled inside them which makes the paratha more tasty and yummy. And the chilled curd served with parathas adds a little spark. The taste of the paratha was lingering in the mouth and the addition of authentic flavor and spices makes it even greater.
Coming to the Shinkanji, it was so refreshing, chilled, and made up of fresh lemons. No doubt about Lassi. A perfect Punjabi lassi you can get in Ahmedabad. The buttery white texture makes the lassi more delightful and mouth-watering.
My overall experience with Jassi de Parathe at Vastrapur branch was not as good as Prahlad Nagar branch.
If you are planning a candlelight dinner or going with family, then you should definitely try this place. But not on weekends.
